Soup kitchen to open downtown on October 11

'Pp' delayed opening of the soup kitchen that is used by the Battle Creeks will need to have a successful conclusion when the Kitchen God Battle Creek to open new city October 11 meal sites, announced today.

'Pp' Lack of funds caused delays in the original opening date, but has received a $ 2,500 donation from Enbridge Energy, according to a press release from the organization.

Kitchen has partnered with First Baptist and First Congregational Church to serve 300 meals per night, Monday through Friday. Starting October 11, dinner will be served weeknights 5-7 pm in the fellowship hall at First Baptist.

Before opening, the orientation of volunteers who planned from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday and Thursday at First Baptist. Individuals or organizations who are interested must attend at least one training session prior to serving food. For information about volunteering, contact Stein at (269) 425-8561.
